My name is Dr Tríona Hourigan, from Limerick in the Republic of Ireland. I hold a Phd in ICT and Language Education from the University of Limerick, Ireland and have also completed post-doctoral work in this area. My general research interests relate to integrating generic technologies for the purposes of second language acquisition in both third level and second level educational contexts. An Action Researcher, my work primarily looks at developing effective teaching methodologies for appropriate exploitation of technological tools for language learning purposes. My PhD focused on integrating a multilingual summarising tool for second language reading and writing tasks. My post-doctoral research centred on using blogs within a blended learning environment to complement the consumption of paper based and visual media texts for French language acquisition. My current research interests include using mobile learning tools to enhance collaborative work and language production skills.
