Max-Planck Institute for Empirical Aesthetics, Frankfurt am Main, Germany Interacting Minds Centre, Aarhus University, Aarhus, Denmark I am an experimental psychologist, with particular interests and expertise in text reading, time-series analysis, and the investigation of the dynamics of physiological signals. I have done experimental research on text reading with children and adults, using self-paced reading, eye-movements, EEG, and voice recordings. Furthermore, I have done some research in the area of embodiment of social interaction (e.g., what heart rate tells us about group processes and joint action processes). I am particularly interested in the question of meaning/meaningful reading, how this is reflected in physiological measures, and how measures of the reading process can predict text comprehension. I am also interested in theoretical/philosophical problems related to language, i.e., what does it take to formulate a consistent account of processes of natural language-use (e.g., reading)? In the near future, I plan to start investigations on the aesthetic aspects of language, pursuing questions such as: Is aesthetic language different from plain language? Where in everyday life do aesthetic features of language play a role, and how are they used? What are suitable process-measures of aesthetic language perception?
