Position Paper

Maria Perifanou is a project coordinator and a researcher in the field of Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL). She holds a Master degree in ICT and Foreign Language education from Ca’ Foscari, University of Venice, (IT) and a Ph.D. from the University of Athens, (GR), in the field of Applied Linguistics with a focus on the use of emerging Web 2.0 tools in language learning (Webquests 2.0, Collaborative Blended Learning Methodology-CBLM). Over that last ten years she has collaborated with various European research institutions on several EU projects such as the “Webquest for HRM” project, the “Web2LLP” project, the “Language Learning and Social Media – 6 Key dialogues” project, etc. Currently, she works at P.A.U Education (Spain) with the team of Open Education Europa as TEL consultant and project coordinator. She also collaborates with the CONTA Lab, University of Macedonia (Greece) as a senior researcher (2 COST actions and other research activities) as well as with the Greek NGO Active Citizens Partnership as a senior researcher (LangMOOC Erasmus+ project initiator & leading researcher). Her main practice and research concerns Web 2.0, Technology Enhanced, learning (TEL), MOOCs, Open Learning OERs, Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL), WebQuests 2.0, Blended Learning, Collaborative Learning, Mobile learning, Personal Learning Environments (PLEs), Adults Training, Lifelong Learning. She is also an experienced e-Learning and Technology Enhanced Language Learning (TELL) teacher/trainer and she has worked as a co-editor and a reviewer with several TEL journals. She is a member of different European TEL research networks and communities and has also been awarded with several international and national scholarships and fellowships for her research (by STELLAR, UNESCO, EATEL, GRnet).
