Position Paper
I would like to present our research based on readers biographies – recording interviews with people of the age 15+ according an identical structure; then, as the second step, transcribing these records into a written form, and, as the third step, interpreting them as not only personal utterances. What can we take from these utterances? What kind a knowledge is hidden in personal witnesses dealing with reading in the course of life? Are developmental aspects of any importance for reading? In addition, what I am able to present are data as well as a methodological background of our three Czech statistical readership surveys (2007, 2010, 2013), where also digital reading is included. An English version (a book dealing with these data) is now in progress.
