My research falls within the HCI (Human-Computer Interaction) field and my agenda focuses on how to design information systems with and for learners, teachers and other school stakeholders’ activities and spaces in order to achieve high-quality educational outcomes. Recently, as senior post doc at the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI), I have investigated the potential benefits given by the integration of ICT in the primary school curriculum within PADS (2012) and Mr. Edu (2009) projects. Specifically, in relation to e-reading, my research concerns with investigating the cognitive and emotional issues in creating and reading multimedia stories. In this area, I contributed to the debate by defining guidelines for designing enhanced e-book [Colombo, L. at al, 2014] and by creating a methodological framework for evaluating the children’s reading experience of multimedia narratives [Rubegni, E. et al, work in progress].
Currently, as researcher at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland, I am expanding these research results in other contexts (from schools to scientific community), with different users (from children to young and older adults), and with different purposes (from education to scientific dissemination).
