As a medium to be able to develop an integrative model of reading, one should be aware of individuals’ differences in cognitive abilities and needs. My research examines students’ online visual behaviour based on their cognitive characteristics with the aid of the eye tracker and EEG neuroimaging technology. Besides it aims to provide a set of principles so that instructional designers can rely on to develop personalized learning environment for each user that will reflect its cognitive characteristics (i.e. visual behaviour). Therefore, my research contribution in this WG will be the application of both my theoretical and research knowledge for the development of the experimental part of the project. Finally, due to the combination of behavioural and neurological measures I will be able to offer my expertise, especially in the quantitative metrics part. Thus, enhance the integration of some of the model’s parameters (e.g. visibility, attention) in assessing reading objectively.
