I am interested in developing a comparative analysis of the use and manipulation of manuscripts, printed books and tables, by taking into the discussion, the use of reader’s marks, scribal annotations, marginalia, paratexts, different versions of a same text by changing the order or position, etc… I believe the manuscript culture, with its multiple layers of meaning and literacy attached to a given text, can be a good ground to explore digital reading and the way users employ functions such as highlights (kindle), share, annotations, etc… At the same time I am interested in the way readers engage emotionally and affectively with texts, and also as part of this process is fundamental the materiality of books AND environment in which the book was read, used.
