WG interest and Scientific programme:

  • Emotional responses to various genres of literary texts
  • Responses to the way in which channels of communication influence reading comprehension (traditional paper based versus computer based reading)
  • Connection between literacy and reading comprehension strategies applied
  • he role of diary studies in eliciting emotional responses to types of texts and reading strategies

Action objectives:

  • To explore in an open-ended way the unobservable factors related to reading comprehension
  • To understand the complex relationships between various channels and reading strategies employed
  • To identify and formulate possible hypotheses for further testing
  • To assess the role and opportunity of diary studies as a research method
