Yavuz Akbulut is an associate professor of educational technology at Anadolu University, Turkey. He has an M.A. in English language education with emphasis on computer assisted language learning, and a Ph.D. in Computer Education & Instructional Technology with emphasis on ICT integration at tertiary education. Prior to joining Anadolu University, he worked at Bogaziçi University as a research and teaching assistant, at Marmara University as a part-time lecturer and at Old Dominion University as a graduate research assistant.
Dr. Akbulut has tried to create and disseminate knowledge about the use of emerging technologies in education. He has authored or co-authored more than 40 international journal articles, 12 book chapters and over 50 international conference presentations. He has been the principal investigator of five research projects and participated in 15 national and international projects. His recent collaborations with doctoral students have also resulted in articles published in highly-cited journals. He lists his primary research interests as cyberpsychology, behavior and learning; media multitasking; safe and ethical technology use and multivariate data analysis.
Dr. Akbulut is the associate editor of the International Journal of Cyber Ethics in Education (IJCEE) and the Turkish Online Journal of Qualitative Inquiry (TOJQI). He is also among the peer-reviewers of more than 40 journals including the Journal of Computing in Higher Education, Educational Technology Research & Development, Learning and Individual Differences, Educational Technology & Society, Computers & Education, Computers in Human Behavior, Contemporary Educational Technology, New Media and Society, System and Foreign Language Annals.
